While driving along route A-2226 through Parque Natural Los Alcornocales, we noticed an amazing sight: Indian teepees situated on the lakeshore near Embalse De Celemin dam. We pulled off the road right away to take a closer look.
WAKANA (that's the name of the place) turned out to be a perfectly charming place… Carefree horses toddling through the coastal meadows, teepees ready to be lived in, hammocks swinging slowly on the wind, furnace, swings fabulously hanging from trees, wooden bar and pier, resting platforms on the lake, and the surrounding calmness – a truly idyllic atmosphere.
There are many things to do here – horse riding, foot or bike trips, feeling adrenaline at a well-equipped rope park, shooting a bow, swimming in the lake, water sports or simply relaxing while staring at the starry sky at night… Those are not all the attractions WAKANA has prepared for its guests.
The complex is a recommendable and a unique place which invites to make a contact with nature. In the neighbourhood, there is Tajo de las Figuras – a cave hiding Phoenician relics, paintings and a burial site at its bottom and in dolmens.
The staff is bilingual and very welcoming – it is a place worth visiting. We are going to come back there for sure…
